If you haven’t noticed via my Instagram, I’m a huge Chicago Cubs fan. My husband and I have season tickets and go as often as possible (him more than me). Well, now that baseball season is in full swing and the weather is hopefully warming up here in Chicago, you might be headed to a game yourself (Cubs or White Sox’s, bless your heart lol). The other day my friend was like can you do a post on ball game apparel that’s not in your face fan? I said why yes of course, I actually already had that on the agenda!
My fave pieces to wear to a ball game are actually pretty basic. I love a comfortable pair of jeans or shorts when it gets hot. They need to be comfy because you are going to be eating hotdogs, nachos and drinking beer! My other go to’s are either a gray or white-T, my chucks (lately white but I have other colors) and a Cubbies hat! I typically do not wear flip flops or sandals to games because a) my feet need more support than they offer for the day and b) have you seen the level of nasty on the ground at ballparks? My husband bought me a kids Rizzo jersey so I usually toss that on to complete the look, but the outfit below doesn’t show it because I wanted you to see that you can keep an outfit super simple and cute. The best part about this easy look is after the game you can toss the hat in your bag and your ready for whatever’s next…unless you are in Wrigleyville which probably just means going to Murphy’s Bleachers or Cubbie Bear in which case you can just leave the hat on. I also prefer wearing aviators to games when I do wear a hat because they fit better under the bill rather than oversized or cat eye sunnies. To top off my looks, I usually bring a fun bright bag to contrast with all the red, white and blue. I love using my Kate Spade cross body – you can similar in this post or my Marc Jacobs cross body similar here, here and here. Below I have my fave citron tote because why not?
On top of breaking down my favorite staple game day pieces, I’ve found a bunch of cute soft Cubs Ts and Tanks for you! I only picked Cubs apparel because well, I’m a Cubs fan…but good brands to shop are actually Old Navy (they have a lot of cute stuff and you can usually run to your local store to get something ASAP), Nike, Majestic and ’47 Brand! If you have any additional questions about where to find cute apparel for your team, shoot me an e-mail at mandi@wethairdontcare.com, and I’ll help you out!

There you have it my friends! These are main picks for when you gotta go to the ballpark! And if it’s chillier you can always throw on a sweatshirt, layer with a long sleeve or vest! Maybe (fingers crossed) I’ll do an October baseball post. Happy shopping!
Peace out,
Wet Hair, Don’t Care

Thanks so much Liz! I love keeping it simple for games so you can transition your outfit easily afterwards. Hopefully, you aren’t too sad about Jake Arrieta coming from the Orioles to the Cubs lolol. We lucked out for sure. Hope you get to enjoy so games this season 🙂
